Terms of Use
Version 0.1 — draft for operator review · Reviewed 29 October 2026. No effective date has been set.
What Playtested provides
Playtested helps developers share games and collect structured feedback, and helps players discover games and take part in playtests. Automation can support repetitive technical checks; people assess how games feel to play. Listings, community ratings and assessments do not guarantee quality, safety, participation or a particular outcome. Small samples should be treated with care.
Accounts and eligibility
Use accurate account details, keep your sign-in credentials private and report suspected account misuse. Choose the roles that reflect how you use the service. The operator must confirm the minimum user age and applicable jurisdiction before these draft terms take effect.
Submitting a game
Only submit a game or claim a developer relationship when you have authority to do so. Provide accurate information, the required AI-use disclosure and authorised build or access links. Do not upload malware, infringe rights, impersonate others or expose confidential access information in a public field. You remain responsible for permissions relating to the material you supply.
Disclosure and assessment
AI-use disclosures are declarations, not independent certification. An assessment records the checks or human review described for that game or build. It does not establish that a download is safe, detect all AI use or certify a game as AI-free. Read the scope and status of each assessment separately from its disclosure.
Testing, feedback and XP
Test only builds you are authorised to access. Describe your own experience honestly, follow the testing task and avoid spam or copied filler. Thoughtful praise and criticism receive equal treatment. Admins assess feedback usefulness and eligibility; an opinion is not proved accurate by an XP award. Developer action preferences do not decide tester XP. Quality decisions can be reconsidered through Contact/Support. Current in-app feedback guides and reservation deadlines explain the applicable rules; XP is not a promise of payment.
Reservations and campaign rules
Claiming a place reserves capacity under the rules shown for that campaign. A deadline applies to the reservation; releasing it or letting it expire before submission frees the place. Expiry has no XP penalty. An expired test must successfully reclaim a place before submission, subject to current capacity and eligibility. Submitted feedback consumes a place regardless of its review outcome, except for existing audited moderator exceptions. See the in-app campaign and Tester Hub guidance for current allowances rather than relying on this document for changing quotas.
Moderation and appeals
Report abusive content, suspicious links, ownership concerns or a disputed review through Contact/Support. Include enough context for investigation without sending secrets. Accounts or content may be restricted to address misuse, security risks or rights complaints. Ask for the reason and reconsideration if you believe a decision is wrong; include the relevant game or report reference.
Your work and its visibility
You retain ownership of your games and original contributions. By submitting material, you allow Playtested to store, display and process it as needed for the service and the visibility of that feature. This does not transfer ownership or grant others a right to sell your game. Public listings, public ratings and community contributions may be visible to visitors. Independent test reports are available through authorised developer, tester and admin workflows; public reception summaries are different from private report access. Do not include personal or confidential information in feedback that the developer will receive.
External services and downloads
Steam pages, game downloads, access links and externally hosted images may be operated by others. Their terms and privacy practices apply when you contact them. Be cautious with unfamiliar downloads and never treat a Playtested listing or technical check as a safety guarantee.
Closing an account and service changes
Contact support to request account closure or discuss access problems. Closure and deletion are different: privacy requests may involve records that need to be retained for justified security, moderation or legal purposes. The retention policy still requires operator review. Material changes to these terms should be dated and explained before taking effect, with any necessary acceptance requested explicitly. This draft does not establish acceptance by existing users. Payment, subscription and payout terms are not established by this draft; their operational status requires operator confirmation.
